The company announced that they will start taking pre-orders for Microsoft HoloLens developer edition in the first quarter of 2016. So 29th Feb was the final date for Microsoft to take pre-orders for developer edition of Microsoft HoloLens. The device costs $3000 which is quite much. The delivery date is also expected to be in one month which takes it to 30th March 2016. Now the company is also providing tutorial documents as well as videos for app developers to learn it.

Kudo Tsunoda, corporate vice president at Microsoft announced on a blog post that Fragments, Young Conker, and RoboRaid (previously demonstrated at E3 as Project X-Ray) will be included with the hardware just to showcase the actual power & capabilities of Microsoft HoloLens & future with this kind of augmented reality. Early purchase will include these offers & Microsoft wants more & more developers to get a hands on with this device .

Fragments: He wrote in the blog,”As a holographic platform highlight, Fragments demonstrates how creators can build characters and storylines that drive a higher level of emotional engagement and attachment than you can with any other medium”  furthermore “Fragments blends the line between the digital world and the real world more than any other experience we built. When your living room has been used as the set for a story, it generates memories for you of what digitally happened in your space like it was real. It is an experience that bridges the uncanny valley of your mind and delivers a new form of storytelling like never before.”

Young Conker: This game is developed by Asobo Studios, the company worked with Microsoft for this game & deep integration to the next gen of virtual reality gaming. Kudo Tsunoda wrote in his blogpost, “This means every person gets a unique gameplay experience, since each gamer’s real world environment is unique,” continuing ,”It is amazing how different the play experience feels based on playing the game in your living room versus your kitchen or your bedroom. Even starting the game from a different position in a single room creates an entirely new gameplay dynamic.”

RoboRaid: This is the game that was demoed last year in October during Microsoft’s event in USA code-named as Project X-Ray. We have seen this game in action & it was really very exciting.

The development version of Microsoft HoloeLens also runs an enhanced version of Skype. OS this allows you to have direct info-graphic use of Skype if you have Skype running n your Windows 10 device. So overall this is a revolutionary device. this can change the way we see around things , we play games and much more.

Finally he wrote some interesting points about it,”This type of communication has enormous potential in both the consumer and business world,” Tsunoda wrote. “It will allow developers to communicate with each other using the holographic medium to share development methods and seek the advice of others. With Skype, you can see the holograms the other person is seeing and you can use holograms to illustrate helpful techniques or development approaches. It is our hope that the holographic development community will be just that—a community.

Another app that company will be releasing for Microsoft HoloeLens is HoloTour which gives us a 360-degree virtual tour of cities & some famous places. It also allows us to virtually walk around some cities like Rome’s city streets complete with 3D sound & some other graphical illusions that are actually available there.

Microsoft will release an Actiongram also for the HoloLens , this summer,” “
