Acer launches Swift 7 with impressive 92 percent screen-to-body ratio

Acer at CES announced Acer Swift 7 laptop with a premium chassis, ultra-narrow bezels, making it virtually borderless much like the Dell XPS 14. The super thin 14-inch laptop weighs only 890 grams and features a Full HD 1920×1080 touch display with IPS technology. Ultra-narrow bezels, Full HD IPS display make an impressive 32 percent screen-to-body ratio possible on this laptop. For display protection, Acer is using Gorilla Glass  6.

The Swift 7 is not only lightweight but also durable. And it possible due to magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum alloys four times stronger than standard aluminum alloys at the same thickness, yet are up to 20 to 35 percent lighter to keep the laptop under 1 kg.

Acer’s Swift 7 is powered by the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8500Y processor, up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM coupled with up to 512GB of PCIe SSD storage. With all that powerful specs packs into the laptop, Acer is still claiming 10 hours of battery life.

Despite being a super thin laptop it does not compromise ports. The laptop is using two USB Type-C ports, both support Thunderbolt 3. To connect to the external display, you have DisplayPort 1.2 that supports high resolution. The Acer Swift 7 delivers Wi-Fi 5 capable of Gigabit speed and features 2×2 MU-MIMO technology.

The Acer Swift 7 laptop with a touch display comes with 8GB/256GB or16GB/512GB. It will be available for purchase in North America in May with price starting at USD1,699, in EMEA, and China in April, starting at EUR1,799 and RMB14,999 respectively.
