App Mirroring is now possible with Your Phone app

Microsoft announced at an event that it’d be allowing users to mirror their Android’s phone’s screen directly on PC. And after all these months the company has finally decided to deliver what it promised. The mirroring feature has an official name and it’s called phone screen. Needless to say, you will need to Your Phone app with Windows Build 1803(Fall Creators Update) or higher. Also, your PC needs to support Bluetooth with low energy Peripheral mode. However, this feature is rolling out in a phased manner and the first device to get the preview is Surface Go. Microsoft promises that it will expand the list of devices over time for both the PC and Phone.

You can check whether your PC supports Bluetooth Low Energy Peripheral Role by following below steps.

1.  Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Starmenu.

2.  Select and expand the Bluetooth option.

3.  Select the Radio Driver or Adapter for Bluetooth.

4.  Double click to open Properties.

5.  Navigate to the Details tab.

6.  Find the “Bluetooth radio supports Low Energy Peripheral Role” property on the dropdown and select it.

7.  See if the value is true or false.

8.  If it’s “true” then your PC will be able to display your phone screen and interact with it

The feature is not available for everyone and currently available in the following devices.

  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9+
