Windows 10 start screen to ditch Live Tiles, reveals a leaked image

0

Back in 2019 Microsoft had accidentally leaked a build to all insiders giving rise to speculation that Windows 10 Start screen will ditch “Live Tiles” sometime in future. Now, a leaked image offers the first look at how the Windows 10 Start screen will look like without Live Tiles.

The image in question has been posted on Twitter and you can check it in the feature image above and the source tweet below.

While the Twitter account has not revealed more details like Build number or ring that the build belongs to we can safely assume that this is not happening in 2020 at least. Live Tiles are still a thing in the next feature update Windows 10 20H1 aka Windows 10 version 2004.

Microsoft has also confirmed that Windows 10 20H2 will be a minor update and thus Microsoft will not ditch Live Tiles in 20H2 as well. So, probably Windows 10 21H1 update may be the death knell for Live Tiles, a feature both liked and hated by many.
