We brought you report from two sources Bloomberg and Recode that Satya Nadella is the leading internal candidate for the Microsoft’s top job. While, Bloomberg’s report has claimed that Satya is the leading candidate overall as well, the two reports also talked about some external candidates in the fray.
Now a new report claims that Google’s’ SVP Sunder Pichai is the leading external candidate for the Microsoft’s CEO job. While this may sound surprising at the face value, Sunder Pichai has excellent credentials as Google’s SVP.
Pichai is the head executive for Google Chrome and Apps and has been a force driving Android integration across the company. He is highly regarded as a leading executive within Google and was rumored to be in the running for leading jobs at Twitter. It was reported that Google paid Pichai $50 million to stay at Google.
The report even goes on claiming that,
SiliconANGLE has confirmed that Sundar Pichai is the top choice for the CEO position of Microsoft according to sources close to the hiring team. According to sources, negotiations are in full swing with Pichai.
Actually, this new report is bit contradictory to Bloomberg and Recode’s reports in terms of who is the leading CEO candidate. So, we may need to wait and see what happens finally and what other news agencies have to report.
