We last posted Hands-on & tear-down images of long-canceled Xbox smartwatch codenamed Joule. Now Nokia and Microsoft enthusiast Hikari Calyx has posted a hands-on video of the smartwatch that shows it in action.
Microsoft in last few years toyed with many consumer product ideas including Smartphones, Smartwatches, Mini Tablets and more but canceled many of them. It canceled some of them even after launching them. Microsoft Band was canceled after 2 generations of the product saw the market.
It is not clear when Microsoft was planning an Xbox Smartwatch or what was the reason behind using Xbox brand for a smartwatch. But it may well be much before the Microsoft Band. The reason behind Xbox brand could have been that it was the only powerful consumer hardware brand that Microsoft had before “Surface”.
