Intel today has announced a set of modern graphics drivers that will replace what you have now on your Windows Laptops/Desktops. Intel calls the modern drivers as Windows Modern Drivers or Universal Windows Drivers(UWD).

As we might have guessed from the name, the new set of drivers are UWP optimized which means that there would be a boost in performance in UWP apps. However, the new drivers will only be available to people with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update or higher and 64-bit of the O.S.

Changes in drivers in many cases cause unwanted problems and for that, you might want to revert back to the original state. Needless to say, first you need to uninstall the current UWD drivers in order to have the legacy drivers back. Intel has FAQ page for all your queries. Otherwise, you can click here to know more information about UWD.

The company has already started to deliver the new update which takes the version to v25.20.100.6444. Users who meet the mentioned criteria can now check for updates by heading over to this page in order to have the latest graphics driver. As of now, it supports the following notable games. Mind you that drivers will only available only in the .exe format.

  • Fallout 4
  • Far Cry 5
  • FIFA 18

  • Path of Exile
  • The Sims 4
  • SMITE
