Microsoft introduces Tamil 99 keyboard on Windows 10 to further simplify computing in Indian languages

Microsoft has announced Tamil 99 keyboard on Windows 10 to bolster up its computing reach in Indian markets. Tamil is one of the popular languages in India and spoken over more than 70 million people. Not only just in India, this will simplify computing in Sri Lanka where Tamil is the mother language. All Windows 10 users running the latest Windows 10 April update can download the language pack.

It has always been our endeavor to provide users computing in local languages and enable them to be more productive. We are committed to supporting the national standards for Indian language technologies including the InScript keyboard layouts and adding the Tamil 99 keyboard is another significant step to making computing more accessible to a large number of users.” – Meetul Patel, COO, Microsoft India.

To download the language pack head over to Windows Settings>Time & Language> Region & Language> Add a Language. Add the Tamil language to the PC. After following the steps all you need to do is Select desired keyboard from the options available.
