Microsoft planning to bring Cloud Clipboard on SwiftKey for Android

0

Microsoft’s recent effort in mobile is all about shortening the gap between PCs and phones. Among others, Cloud Clipboard, on paper, seems like it could play a play a role in making things flow easily from PCs to phones and vice-versa. With Windows 10 October 2018 update, Microsoft introduced the Cloud Clipboard only for PCs, avoiding its mobile effort altogether. This in future is going to change.

WC noticed a popup in the Windows 10 October 2018 update, suggesting Microsoft’s close involvement in bringing the Cloud Clipboard experience on the SwiftKey app for Android.

You can try this yourself if you are on Microsoft’s latest operating system. Just head over to the Setting app, click on System, you will find Clipboard at the bottom of the hamburger menu. In the Clipboard Setting, you will notice something reading ”Get an app to sync clipboard items to your phone”. When pressed, it will take you to a page suggesting you to download the SwifKey beta app. Unfortunately, there is no such development on iOS, at least not that we are aware of yet.

Now that Windows 10 keyboard is powered by SwiftKey, the integration should not cause any damage and we can expect things to work properly unlike the continue on PC which does not really have a good success ratio at the moment.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁
