Microsoft released a new cumulative update for those still running the Windows 10 1607 a.k.a. Windows 10 Anniversary update. However, the catch here is that the update to only hit to those who are on the Long-term Servicing Channel(LTSC) or have Windows 10 Enterprise or Education SKUs.
Aside from bringing the Build number to 14393.2641, the new cumulative update KB4478877 addresses an issue that prevents the release of the on-demand Source Network Address Translation (SNAT) port allocated to a virtual machine (VM) after the SNAT port is no longer in use. As a result, the SNAT port becomes exhausted.
However, things are not all rosy. The cumulative update has its downside as listed below.
