Movies

Alongside the update for Groove Music app on Windows 10 Creators Update, Microsoft Movies & TV app has also been updated in the Windows Store.

The latest update, version 10.17042.1421.0, adds quite a few new features like tabbed view etc. to the app along with some visual design changes along the top bar of the app.

Firstly, the app now has a separate space for video folders found on your PC. This will display all the media stored locally on your PC and determined by “choose where to look for videos” option under settings.

Secondly, the app now allows you to individually look for media on connected USB drives or removable storage devices. Once you connect a USB drive to your PC, it will automatically detect and display all the content that is on the drive. Next thing to do is to drill down to the location where movies/media is located, and start playing right away.

Last but not the least, you can now stream media via nearby Media Servers. If any media servers are available on your network, they will show up in Media Servers section where you can access them and begin playing.
