Skype Insiders can now share OneDrive files through the Skype app

0

Microsoft announced a new feature to the Skype Insiders that allows sharing of OneDrive files on Skype without even leaving the app. Those already using Microsoft word and share documents are already familiar with this idea of cloud sharing. The idea is also same here. You just need to choose the OneDrive file that you want to send and then a link to the OneDrive will be sent which means that you are no longer uploading the entire file which in turn minimizes the data consumption.

Follow the below steps to send OneDrive files directly through the Skype app:

  1. Open the chat with the contact you wish to share the file with
  2. Click on the + icon located on the bottom of your chat window to open the Content & Tools menu, scroll through and select OneDrive
  3. Select the file, or folder, you wish to share from your OneDrive into the chat

Although most of the Skype users were of the same opinion that Skype lost its charm and gave the Microsoft owned chat messenger a bad name. Some of them even move to other platforms like. The good news is that the company is still trying to sustain what it has currently with some cool features. With all these coming into Skype, it would be interesting to see what the future holds in store for Skype.
