ARM

At Computex 2017, Microsoft and Qualcomm announced the next step in Windows 10 on ARM journey. Snapdragon 835 powered always-connected Windows 10 PCs are coming from ASUS, HP, and Lenovo. The Windows versions these PCs will run is Windows 10 on ARM, which allows full PC experience with Win32 apps support. It was earlier demoed by Microsoft in a Build 2017 demo video.

What these Snapdragon-powered PCs bring to the table are features like LTE connectivity on the go, better thermal management resulting in sleek, thin and fanless PCs and better battery life. Though at this point in time these are claims which will need proper verification.

As per the official Qualcomm blog post,

The Snapdragon 835 provides devices with superior thermal handling and greater power efficiency, enabling fanless designs with longer battery life, attributed to it being on the leading 10nm process node. With an integrated Snapdragon X16 Gigabit LTE modem, devices will be able to support peak download speeds of up to 1Gbps. The Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform will also feature 2×2 802.11ac MU-MIMO for optimal Wi-Fi connectivity on the go.
