Tim Cook’s Windows 8 vs OS X adoption chart reimagined based on actual user numbers

Apple has a long history of RDF (reality distortion field) behind it and at WWDC they did try to live up to it once again. Tim Cook’s presentation had a slide comparing Windows 8 and OS X Mavricks’ adoption rates. The chart shows Windows 8 adoption at 14% as compared to 50% for OS X mavericks.

Apple may have thought that they will escape unscathed after this, but criticisms for presenting such misleading stats came pouring in. One of the twitter users have in fact posted the chart shown during Tim Cook’s presentation with a twist. He just plotted it on the basis of actual number of users!

Windows vs OS XIt looks embarrassing! Windows 8 has many more users than entire OS X. Hard luck & well tried Cook!!
