According to the latest leak (via WABetaInfo), WhatsApp is said to be working on payments feature for its Windows Phone app. The payment transfer bits have been found in the latest version of WhatsApp beta app for Windows Phone, but is currently HIDDEN by default.

The valid payment types are Wallet, Credit Card, Debit Card and Bank Account, with a maximum transfer amount of 77$ per transaction.

Also, with the latest beta app update for Windows Phone, you can share multiple contact cards (hidden).

We recently reported about WhatsApp to introduce payments in India, on Nokiapoweruser, in detail and in case you have not checked it yet, read the article.

According the report, WhatsApp with the Indian Government backed UPI payment scheme (P2P), will allow you to send money to your contacts through the app. Since, India has the largest user base of more than 200M wild WhatsApp users, it is quite obvious for Facebook owned WhatsApp to first target a country like India.

Expect the payment feature to arrive in the next few months if the development doesn’t hit any roadblock.
