Microsoft has pushed a new Windows 10 Cumulative update build to insiders in Fast Ring. The Build 16232.1004 is just a minor upgrade over the last Build 16232 and this doesn’t bring any new features. It has minor changes which are targeted at testing Microsoft’s service pipeline.

You may need to reboot your PC after installing this build if you have Notepad.exe open.

This update should not require you to have to reboot unless you happen to have Notepad.exe open. This update only revs the version of the OS and includes a updated binary version of Notepad.exe and nothing else.

There are two known issues in Build 16232.1004. This update will only remain available until the next Fast build is released by Microsoft.

  • Make sure you’ve setup Mixed Reality before taking this update.
  • After installing a language pack or feature-on-demand like .NET 3.5, your PC may be offered this update again and fail.
