The Latest AdDuplex reports for January 2019 is now out. The report gives us a glimpse of the number of people currently running various versions of Windows 10. According to the report, Microsoft’s latest version of Windows 10, Windows 10 October 2018 Update(version 1809) is still struggling in getting users on board. To be more specific, only 12.4 percent of the people are currently running the latest operating system.

The number is far too low if we compare it with the previous version, Windows 10 April Update which is still standing tall with over 80 percent of the total share. Windows 10 October 2018 Update has a way to go it seems despite the fact that Microsoft rolled out the update for everyone in the month of December last year. This, however, isn’t all that surprising given the disastrous roll-out of the October Update which led to users losing their files. And by looking at the AdDuplex figure on the latest update it seems users are still not sure whether they should give it a go or not.

On the other hand, the Fall Creators Update now has an install base of four percent followed by the Creators Update and Anniversary Update which has a share of 1.4 percent and 1.2 percent respectively. And there is a tiny population still running the first build of Windows 10.

Microsoft’s own Surface devices are on the flip side are doing a pretty decent job especially the Surface Pro. Surface Pro 4 is about to touch the 25 percent share followed by the Surface Pro(2017) and Surface Pro 3 which stands at 17.72 percent and 15 percent respectively. The latest Surface, the Surface Go enjoys a close to 10 percent share.

Before you draw any conclusion, you should always take these data with a pinch of salt as it never tells you the complete story. The reports are based on people using specific apps that have adopted the AdDuplex SDK. Due to this, chances are high that a majority of people running the Windows 10 October 2018 Update don’t count for AdDuplex.
