Microsoft today announced Windows 10 S claiming to offer a familiar, productive Windows experience that’s streamlined for security and performance. Windows 10 S exclusively uses apps in the Windows Store and forces you to use Microsoft Edge as default browser. This is what Microsoft has to say about Windows 10 S.

Your applications are delivered via the Windows Store ensuring Microsoft-verified security and integrity. Microsoft Edge is your default browser since it’s more secure than Chrome or Firefox.1 Windows Defender and all ongoing security features of Windows 10 are included.

Microsoft also revealed today that Surface Laptop users, the first PC with Windows 10 S can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro for free by end of this year.
