Windows Phone 8.1 appears in compatibility list for all Windows Phone apps at the store.

We reported how some of the apps have been caught with Windows Phone 8.1 compatibility only to disappear from store, later. But, when we checked now many apps including Facebook, Instagram, Facebook messenger and more have Windows Phone 8.1 appearing now in “Works with” section. Is the update release closer than we thought?

Windows Phone 8 apps are supposed to be compatible with Windows Phone 8.1 devices according to leaks, while Windows Phone 8.1 apps will be compatible with Windows Phone 8 devices only when they run Windows Phone 8.1 update.
