VLC for Windows 8.1 downloaded 38000 times. Crash-fixing update submitted to the store.

After long-wait, VLC for Windows 8.1 finally became available in the store and since it is still in Beta, some users encountered issues like crash at the start. Now as promised VLC team has submitted an update for the app which will take care of crashing of the app. They also promise next update for the next week.

In reply to a question, VLC team has also confirmed 38000 downloads for the VLC Windows 8.1 app till yesterday.

The download number may not look super-awesome, but compares to Firefox citing less than 2000 active users for killing the Firefox browser work for Windows 8 and 8.1.
