Instagram app for Windows 10 Mobile has received a new update in Windows Store. The latest app v10.849.31563.0 brings some of the new features that were recently introduced in Android and iOS versions of the app.
Instagram New Direct

First up is the relocated disappearing photos and videos feature. Although it was previously available, but not as much useful as it is now. Simply swipe over to direct and you will find a new blue camera button at the bottom. You can also find the same inside the single chat at the bottom lower left corner. We have covered it in great detail in our last post, which you can find here along with how to send disappearing photos and videos.
Instagram saved collections feature

Secondly, saved posts can now be organised into private collections. This is particularly useful is you want to save all the photos and videos that interests you in a bucket and then back to it later. Tutorial on how to create collections, can be found here

and finally, the app now allows you to upload multiple photos or videos, up to 10, from the camera roll, saved pictures, WhatsApp,  as well as the screenshot folder.
Instagram Multiple Photo Upload

How to upload multiple photos or videos on Instagram for Windows 10

  • Browse to home screen and simply tap the + button at the bottom.
  • Tap “SELECT MULTIPLE”. on the next screen.
  • With each photo you tap on from the collection, it will display a count.
  • Once you reach the limit of 10 photos/videos, hit Next.
  • On the next screen, scroll around the photos to check and apply any filter if you want to and tap Next.
  • Write a caption and tap Share to upload.

There is also some UI improvements to direct screen with each thread showing up in a slightly bigger font, and the Live feature has also been re-touched a little bit. However, the option to save the live video has not popped up on my phone yet, but there is hope, and it will come soon.

Som users are also reporting the stories can now be 15 seconds longer with earlier only being 10 sec.
