Today, Microsoft is rolling out July update for Xbox which comes with several new features and performance improvements. Insiders are already familiar with the changes that are coming with the July update and now the time is up for the general users to get their hands on. We have some important features like FastStart, Groups and to name a few.
E3 may be in our rear view like a fall leaf in Forza Horizon 4, but we’ve been busy updating the Xbox experience and adding features that you’ve requested. The July Xbox Update adds features that make finding content even easier and offers a host of improvements to Mixer.
Consumers with Xbox now can jump into games twice as fast and play after downloading just a fraction of it. FastStart is a smart approach which automatically detects files that are necessary to start a game and start to download those files first. Although we already are familiar with the idea, it is just that we are seeing this on the Xbox platform for the first time. Note that not all the games will be able to take advantage of the feature. You need to look for the FastStart tag which is limited to a few games as of now.
Another great feature is ‘Groups’. As the name suggests, it simply creates multiple collections of content made up of anything from within My Games & Apps. This is not all you can also assign custom names to each group just like how we used to group tiles and assigned custom names to each group with Windows phones.
The July update also offers some other important fixes which will improve the overall experience on the console. To check the full list you can click here.
