While Microsoft has announced 9 new hardware partners at MWC 2014, this list missed Indian vendor Micromax but had two other Indian vendors Lava and Karbonn’s names. But, Micromax has confirmed today to TOI that its Windows Phone smartphone plans are on and at the time of MWC, it was still holding discussions with Microsoft.

Micromax co-founder Vikas Jain confirmed to The Times of India Tech that the company is still working towards launching Windows Phone-based devices. On being asked the reason for not being in the list of Windows Phone OEM partners, Jain said the company was still holding discussions with Microsoft and will soon come up with an announcement.

Micromax has also confirmed that it will launch a dual-OS (Android+Windows) LapTab device next month.

Micromax has also confirmed it is launching a dual-OS (Android+Windows) LapTab device next month. Dismissing as “market speculation” that the tablet-laptop hybrid had been shelved, Jain reiterated that the company’s plans are still on track.
