Microsoft is hiring for its Windows Mobile team at Redmond. On the Microsoft Careers site, two job listings have been spotted, one for the Program Manager II and the other one is the Senior Program Manager.
Program Manager II
Our team is looking for a technical Program Manager to drive the design and delivery of core client platform features on Windows Mobile. You will be contributing to a wide range of Mobile platform features, from device management, updatability, security features and drivers to managing quality flights and customer communication. You will be part of a strong team that will execute on the high priority platform feature for Windows Mobile that will be used by our Enterprise partners, OEMs and consumers.
Senior Program Manager
Do you obsess over best customer experience and are you a self-starter? Are you excited by working with the latest innovations in hardware and devices? Windows Mobile team is looking for an experienced Senior Program Manager help drive the communication experiences to mobile devices, improve the user experience, meet enterprise and operator requirements. In this role, you will work with partners across the company including the hardware team to define the strategy, define the deliver the communication experience.
This is no surprise that Windows Mobile platform is the least used across the globe and Microsoft has failed to deliver any flagship device since October 2015 to hold on to its true fans and customers that had high very high expectations as they expected Windows 10 on phone would be game changer and a strong competitor to Android or iOS on final release.
But, unfortunately that didn’t happen and Windows Mobile came with it own requirements, dropping a bomb and shattering the expectations of many Windows Phone 8.1 users eagerly awaiting the upgrade, forcing them to abandon the device and move on to a different platform. Because, why not? You will simply find better Microsoft apps on Android and iOS that on its own platform which is pathetic and at the same time, discouraging.
