Microsoft’s AI based photo and editing app Microsoft Pix Camera is now getting a new update.
The update is now officially announced by Microsoft research team in an official blogpost. The Microsoft Pix app is getting updated with two interesting features called the Pix Styles and Pix Paintings. Starting today, the update will be rolled out to iPhones and iPads with new features.
“These are meant to be fun features,” said Josh Weisberg, a principal program manager in the Computational Photography Group within Microsoft’s research organization in Redmond, Washington. “In the past, a lot of our efforts were focused on using AI and deep learning to capture better moments and better image quality. This is more about fun. I want to do something cool and artistic with my photos.”
Pix Styles:
What Pix Styles does is transforms pictures into styles inspired by popular works of art or adds an effect such as making the picture look like it’s on fire.
In other words, it doesn’t work like a filter that de-tones some colors of a picture and apply own effect. The Pix Styles transforms texture, pattern and tones to the photo in the selected style, transforming it into a distinct creation
Pix Paintings:
Pix Paintings is another feature being introduced today by Microsoft to the Pix Camera app on iOS. The latest update to Microsoft Pix brings Pix Paintings that creates a time-lapse of the picture being painted in the artistic style selected – allowing users to see their masterpiece come to life.
