Microsoft has just released **Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26300.7674 (KB5074170) to the Dev Channel — the first build in the new 26300 series that’s previewing what’s coming next for Windows 11, including the upcoming version 26H2 update.

🧠 What’s New in This Build

🚀 Dev Channel Jump to 26300 Series
This build marks a move forward in the Insider Dev Channel — once you install Build 26300.7674, the easy option to switch to the Beta Channel closes. If you want to switch before that happens, you can pause updates and change channels before the build installs.

🔧 Bug Fixes & Improvements
Instead of big new features, this build focuses on quality improvements and fixes, including:

  • 🗂️ File Explorer — Fixes the missing “Extract All” option in some folders.

  • 🪟 Start Menu — Squashes an issue with hiding the mobile panel.

  • 🔍 Search — Fixes an incorrect icon in the search bar.

  • ⚙️ Settings — Helps with slow load times.

  • 🖥️ Displays & Graphics — Improves how secondary monitors behave.

  • ☁️ Azure & Desktop Virtualization — Fix for certain sign-in issues.

⚠️ Known Issues
Some parts of Windows still have bugs in this build:

  • Start menu “Categories” view may not expand correctly.

  • File Explorer windows can jump unexpectedly.

  • Certain Xbox full screen apps act weird.

  • Some apps might not show in the system tray.

  • Copilot prompt may not work without the Microsoft 365 app running.

🧪 Heads-Up for Insiders

  • The watermark on the desktop is normal for preview builds.

  • Features are being rolled out gradually — not everything appears for everyone at once.

  • Some features may never make it to the final public version.

💡 Why This Matters:
This first 26H2-series Insider build sets the stage for the next Windows 11 update due later this year. While it doesn’t bring big new features yet, it prepares the platform for future changes and ensures developers and early adopters can test fixes, provide feedback, and shape the final experience.
