Microsoft still hiring for Windows Mobile platform. Mentions “consumers” as one of the target segments

While Microsoft may have already subjected Windows 10 Mobile as we know it to a slow death, it is still betting on Windows Mobile platform, reveals a new job requirement posted on LinkedIn. The job requirement is for a “Senior technical Program Manager” to drive the design and delivery of core features on Windows Mobile platform.

As per the detailed job description, Microsoft is looking to hire people who can contribute to a wide range of Windows Mobile platform features and also own the partner management for device launch and support. Good news is that Microsoft does mention consumers as one of the target segments for Windows Mobile.

Windows Devices Group is looking for a technical Program Manager to drive the design and delivery of core features on Windows Mobile platform. You will be contributing to a wide range of Mobile platform features, from device management, updatability, security features and drivers to managing quality flights and customer communication. You will be part of a strong team that will execute on the high priority platform features for Windows Mobile that will be used by our Enterprise partners, OEMs and consumers. You will also own the partner management for device launch and support which includes working with OEMs, IoT partners and Mobile operators on their support issues and feature requests.
