Windows 11 version 22H2 aka Sun Valley update 2 is the upcoming annual update for Windows 11 targeted at 2022. Microsoft is working to improve Windows 11’s new multitasking experience. Microsoft has further tweaked the ALT+TAB/Task manager interface design in the latest Windows 11 Dev channel build.
Microsoft had redesigned ALT+TAB interface to shows apps as windowed unlike the full-screen window experience that we have on Windows 11. The focus rectangle of ALT+TAB, Task view, and Snap assist also started showing show the accent color.
The same experience existed on Windows 10 earlier and it may be a welcome step to bring it back to Windows 11. But the open apps were arranged in a single row as shown in the image below.
Now, in the latest Windows 11 Dev channel build, ALT+TAB finally divides into more rows for 6 or more open windows. You can check the latest ALT+TAB interface in featured image above.
Microsoft has recently improved multitasking in Windows 11 by including Microsoft Edge tabs in snap assist. When a windows is snapped, three most recent Edge tabs are now shown as suggestions. One can also control whether to include Microsoft Edge tabs in multitasking via settings.
The Windows 11 update destined to come out this year will be the version 22H2. As per a new report this update will bring much-desired and currently missing Taskbar features back. It may also bring system-wide Dark mode and many other new features and UI changes.
