Some users have a reported a bug in recent Windows 11 builds that allows users to charge Laptop batteries beyond 100%. Microsoft has acknowledged the bug and has revealed that this bug was already there in past Dev channel builds.
As you can see in the featured image above, the bug allows battery charge to be reported at “115%”. While, the real charging level can’t actually cross 100%, it feels weird to see exaggerated battery levels being reported. The above screenshot was shared by a user on Reddit.
Microsoft has also acknowledged this issue. Microsoft employee Jen Gentlemen has responded to the user revealing that they have come across reports about this issue being present in more dev channel builds.
So far, there is no information about this bug being present in Windows 11 public release builds. Builds in Dev channel usually arrive from different “release channel” than the public release one.
