Microsoft may be planning to finally add a feature to Task manager that many have been asking for. A search bar in Windows 11 Task manager is being tested as a hidden feature.
The new feature has been identified by enthusiasts and leaked online with screenshot of the feature in action.
The search bar asks to enter a name, publisher or PID for conducting the search. This will make process of finding a running process or program much easier.
Currently, the Task manager displays multitude of processes running on the PC. It is usually a huge list and makes it quite difficult to find a particular process or program.
Microsoft has updated the design of Task Manager to match the new Windows 11 design principles in Windows 11 version 22H2. This includes a new hamburger style navigation bar and a new settings page. A new command bar on each page gives access to common actions. Update also brings dark theme to Task manager and will automatically match the system-wide theme configured in the Settings app.
But the search function was missing from the revamped Task manager. The hidden feature may be well on the way in upcoming insider builds to make the Task manager more user friendly.
