Microsoft recently released March Update or the Creators Update for the broader Xbox One community. Some of the major features include Beam streaming, an updated Xbox experience with the new Guide, home improvements, and much more. And for PC users with Windows 10 Creators Update installed, there is Game Mode etc.
Once thing that was skipped with the release was the bit-stream pass-through feature. So, now if you are on the March Update on your Xbox console, you will be glad to know Microsoft has finally enabled the feature for all Xbox One owners, and confirmed by Xbox One Major Nelson on twitter.
All you have to do is to reboot the console, head to Blu-ray settings page & select ‘Let my receiver decode audio’ , as can been seen in the picture above.
Basically, the Blu-ray disc player on Xbox One allows your receiver to decode audio natively. All bit-stream formats are supported, including newer ones like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Happy gaming!
