A new Nokia Lumia prototype has emerged via a sales listing on China’s TaoBao. The proto is named Nokia id326-3. The design looks so refreshing yet totally different from existing and upcoming Lumia range at that time.
Above images force Nokia / Lumia fans into deep thinking mode. We got uninspiring flagships like Lumia 950 / Lumia 950 XL. And edge to edge display and Bezel-less design were planned by Nokia 3 years ago that too on mid-range smartphones. Take that Xiaomi Mi Mix of 2017!!
As far as we know, it was earlier planned as a Nokia X family device running Android and was later converted to a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone, only to be cancelled finally under Satya. When Microsoft under Satya Nadella announced big lay-offs in acquired Nokia D&S division, Stephen Elop announced plans to move some of the future Nokia X products to Lumia line.
In addition to the portfolio already planned, we plan to deliver additional lower-cost Lumia devices by shifting select future Nokia X designs and products to Windows Phone devices. We expect to make this shift immediately while continuing to sell and support existing Nokia X products.
Not only Nokia id326-3, there were more low-end and even higher-end Nokia X family prototypes which were to be converted to Lumia and were cancelled.
