CES 2017: Lenovo renovates the ThinkPad X1 family of devices

At CES 2017, Lenovo has announced a refreshed and updated line up of Thinkpad X1 family of devices. All of these devices take great advantage of Windows 10 features like Windows Hello facial/fingerprint recognition, and support for Windows Ink and noise cancelling microphones for improved interaction with your digital personal assistant, Cortana.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon

The 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon is now available in new Silver colour, in addition to the regular black. It offers more than 15 hours of battery life, weighs just 2.5 pounds and packs a 14-inch high quality IPS display into a new sleek 13-inch form factor.

It also support Windows Hello, so you can log in easily and securely using either the fingerprint sensor or the new face recognition Infrared camera.

Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 3 ports, for super-fast and slim port connection, super-fast LTE-A Wireless WAN and WIFI CERTIFIED WiGig options that deliver superlative performance and connectivity.

The updated ThinkPad X1 Yoga is also available in new Silver colour, and offers true multi-mode capability and can deliver stunning colours and absolute blacks in its 14-inch notebook size with an OLED screen. If you’re not familiar with OLED, an OLED screen is one of those things you must see to believe, it’s higher resolution than 4K.

A redesigned rechargeable pen and improved ‘rise and fall” keyboard complete the improved experience.

Alongside the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, there is the ThinkPad X1 Tablet. The ThinkPad X1 Tablet has unique modules that offer port expansion and up to 5 hours of additional battery life, and an integrated projector option making it easier to go from creation to presentation. It also comes with new Intel Core processors for better performance and graphics than ever.

Pricing and availability

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon starts at $1,349, and will be available beginning in February 2017. The ThinkPad X1 Yoga starts at $1,499, and will be available beginning in February 2017. The ThinkPad X1 Tablet starts at $949, and will be available beginning in March 2017. All available in the US.
