Details emerge about perhaps the most exciting of all Surface devices to be announced on October 2. As per the latest leaks, Surface 7 “Campus” may be the ARM-powered variant of Surface Pro 7 and may come with a significantly changed design.
It will sport an almost borderless display, especially on both sides. This will look visually similar to iPad Pro as per the source behind these leaks. USB-C and 4G LTE support are also there. USB-C will replace both USB-A and mini-DisplayPort connection options.
Previous leaks suggested that there may be not only an Intel processor-powered Surface Pro 7 variant but even a variant powered by ARM processor codenamed “Excalibur”. So, perhaps Surface 7 Campus is the variant with Excalibur processor.
But if you are a fan of the traditional Surface Pro design and feel then you would be able to buy the Surface Pro 7 with Pro 6 like design and Intel processor. This traditional Surface Pro 7 is codenamed “Harper”, claims the leak.
USB-C will replace the mini-DisplayPort on Surface Pro 7 but USB-A and Surface Connect will still be there.
Intel’s 10th Generation Ice Lake CPUs may be the one plonked into Surface Pro 7 to make it more powerful than its predecessor. A recent leak covered by us first caught Surface Pro 7 powered by Ice Lake processor appearing on Geekbench.
