Google Chrome “Commander” makes features/settings searches a breeze

Google has added a new feature “Commander” to the Chrome Canary channel. The search feature Commander surfaces Chrome commands as you type in a drop-down. This makes searching for Chrome features and settings a breeze.

The feature “Commander” needs to be enabled via feature flags for now. It is available in Chrome Canary 91 as ““text interface to common chromium functionality.”

The search interface always appears on top and works like a universal Chrome features and settings finder. You need to just hold Ctrl and press Space key to start using the Commander search.

Here is how you can enable  the feature if you have Chrome Canary installed on your PC.

  1. Launch Chrome
  2. Go to chrome://flags
  3. Search for commander
  4. Enable the feature and restart the browser
Exit mobile version
