Microsoft has a very good track record of keeping their apps and services updated and polished and which is was one would expect from such a giant.
Now the company has started pushing another new update to the Microsoft Calendar app. The latest update to Calendar comes in the Calendar Preview branch of Windows. It comes with a new feature added to the Microsoft Calendar on Windows. The latest update hitting Calendar (Preview) on Windows comes with the ability to search which lets you search events and dates. The search bar is situated at the center top in the taskbar.

Search results will be based on the date and what you type in the search bar. Clicking on any of the results will give you detailed information about that specific event/date and reminders etc.
