Microsoft: Windows 10 Timeline activity history sync not available starting July 2021

0

Microsoft recently killed the activity history sync of Windows 10 Timeline in the dev channel Build 21359. Now, it has announced that starting July 2021 it will be the case for all Windows 10 versions. If you have your activity history synced across devices you would not be able to upload new activity.

Microsoft has recently updated the page “Windows 10 features we’re no longer developing” and added the Timeline information. This only impacts the activity history sync but Timeline as a feature still remains available.

Note: Starting in June 2021, if you have your activity history synced across your devices through your Microsoft account (MSA), you’ll no longer have the option to upload new activity in Timeline. You’ll still be able to use Timeline and see your activity history (information about recent apps, websites and files) on your local device.  AAD-connected accounts won’t be impacted.
