Microsoft will start releasing Windows 11 insider builds to Dev channel insiders starting this week. There has been some confusion about eligibility of insider PCs not meeting Windows 11 minimum requirements to get Windows 11 builds.

Microsoft has in fact clarified in its Windows 11 insider blog post that it will allow even those insider PCs get Windows 11 builds that don’t meet minimum system requirements. The table posted by Microsoft clearly shows that if your Windows 10 PC is already enrolled to Windows insider program (Meets minimum requirement for Windows insider program), it will be eligible for Windows 11 insider program.

This is the “Not meeting” in yellow column for Dev and Beta channels. So, if you are in Dev or Beta channel and already enrolled to Windows 10 insider program you will be eligible for Windows 11 insider program too.

The “Not meeting” in Red column is only for those PCs which doesn’t even meet “minimum requirement for Windows insider program” which is nothing but “minimum requirement for Windows 10” itself.

It seems that some insiders were receiving below message in their insider settings, “Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your channel options will be limited”.

Microsoft has clarified in its forum that it has made an update to settings to resolve some issues and has asked users to reboot their devices. Once again it confirmed that Windows 11 insider builds will be available for existing insiders.

***UPDATE***

For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We’ve made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.
