Microsoft is finally going head to head against its once famous rival, Apple. Although the competition overlaps with a very small part of Microsoft, it is still very important for both the company. We have reported that Microsoft is working on a lite Surface device which will go head to head against Apple’s iPad Pro. It looks like the software giant has done all the finishing touches and might release at Microsoft’s hardware event which is set to take place in October.
Winfuture.de was able to collect some information about the lite Surface device. The source claims that Microsoft is planning to launch two models of the mentioned device with an Intel processor of different architectures. One with Pentium and other will come up with Intel’s Kaby Lake processor. Goes without saying that the later architecture is more powerful than the later one and will be priced higher.

As mentioned above Pentium model will be priced lower compared to the Kaby Lake one. Inside the device, we will have Intel Pentium N5000 with four-core x86 SoC with a clock rate of up to 2.7 GHz.

This particular Surface device is the flagship one in this cheaper Surface model category. As it represents the flagship model of the Surface killer category, Microsoft is leaving no stone unturned to make this thing easy to beat the iPad Pro. Inside, we will have an impressive Intel Pentium gold 4415Y CPU which operates at 1.5 GHz.
As of now, we don’t have much information on the device as it is still in development mode. But we will see more news with broader description than this in near future. We are expecting Microsoft to release the device in its hardware event.
