New update fixes power / sleep issues on Windows 10. Skype Workaround

Windows 10 updateA new update has shown up for Windows 10 Technical preview and it seems to fix some sleep / power issues, which I haven’t encountered on my devices, yet. Anyways, the update KB3010668 is live and you can install it by checking for updates. You will need to restart your PC after installing this update.

Skype stopped working post Build 9860 installation and now Microsoft team has suggested a workaround.

This is an issue with the Webcam Privacy settings in Build 9860.  To work around the issue you will need to give Skype permission to use your webcam through “PC settings”.

  • Close the Skype App
  • Launch “PC settings”
  • Select “Privacy”
  • Select “Webcam”
  • Locate Skype in the app list and move the slider to the “On” position
