The official Skype Twitter account came under attack from Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) hacker group on Wednesday. Hackers made Skype’s Twitter account on Wednesday display the message,
“Don’t use Microsoft emails(hotmail,outlook),They are monitoring your accounts and selling the data to the governments. More details soon #SEA.”
This message was posted about 10:30 GMT but was removed less than two hours later. The SEA hacker group has also hacked The NY Times, AFP and other media organizations accounts before.
Skype has accepted that its account was targeted but claims that no user info was compromised,
