Telegram has released a new official messenger app in the Windows Store for Windows 10 Mobile – Telegram Messenger Private.
Telegram Messenger Private is the company’s newest offering to take on its rival WhatsApp, since the freshly released app has left behind the old Windows Phone 8+ UI frame and has take the leap to embrace the Windows 10 design language.
Once you download and set up the app, you will quickly notice how far Telegram has re-worked on every bit of it from the home screen to settings and the new chat window UI.
There are some new animations all around the app, too and they just feel so good. I am not a frequent user of the app, but I liked the way everything is packed up, at-least in the early release, and may consider it as my daily messenger app.
You even get PASSCODE LOCK and TWO-STEP AUTHENTICATION under Settings > Privacy and Security. Pretty neat!
There is no hamburger menu, however, so if you were looking for one, hold on!
One thing to notice is that it may be still using the WP8.1 messaging support as is revealed by the version of the app, v1.29.18.0 WP8.1 and that is strange. May be Telegram is looking to replace its old app with the new one. I don’t get the idea of using ‘private’ in the name itself, to be honest.
If you use Telegram, please let us know about your experience with the app in the comments below.
