If you are trying to find out who started the particular hashtag trend on Twitter, then Trend Source is an interesting app to just do that with ease and simplicity. The app is available on both Windows 10 PC and Mobile.
On the first start, you will need to authenticate your Twitter account against the app and makes you input a 6 digit PIN during the process. The app is UI is clean with a search box up at the top where you enter a #hashtag of your interest or select one from a list of trending Hashtags. The application then begins collecting tweets in the background and may take a while you wait for the application to complete the analysis. This is because of the Twitter’s API limiting.
One thing to note, however, is that the app will only search tweets made in the last 7 days. This is again due to API limiting.
By default, the region is set as “worldwide” but you can change it by going to Settings and selecting a location. This will also help you to narrow down the search for a particular location.
