This is a really big Windows 10 design change if reports are true. Microsoft is working on a brand-new Start menu layout for Windows 10 version 21H2 aka Sun Valley update. The existing classic menu will also exist and user would be able to swap between these two menus using a toggle.
This leak comes from Zac Bowden one of the trustworthy sources when it comes to Windows related stuff. Anyways, as mentioned above this new UI is different from the rounded Start menu that featured in many leaks.
As mentioned by Zac, the new layout doesn’t have a hamburger menu. It also places the user icon/name, shutdown controls, and File Explorer shortcuts along the bottom of the UI. There’s an “all apps” button at the top right that takes you to a separate apps list view.
Now, both the brand-new redesigned Start menu and the ability to swap between classic and this new layout are one of the biggest changes that Microsoft may have planned for Windows 10 in quite some time. If you are all excited and want to know when you can try one as an insider, you should be able to do it in coming months.
Zac has also revealed that Microsoft is planning a bug bash in July focusing on Sun Valley update. So, this change should be in Dev channel already by then.
