Microsoft has released the last Patch Tuesday update of the year 2020 KB4592449 for Windows 10 Versions 1903 and 1909. The update KB4592449 with Builds 18363.1256/18362.1256 for version 1909/1903 brings fixes for a number of Windows issues.

This is also the last official update for the version 1903 as it reaches end of servicing today, December 08. If you are still on Windows 10 version 1903 you need to update at least to version 1909 for keeping your PC supported.

Windows 10, version 1903 has reached end of servicing as of this release dated December 8, 2020. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10. If you want to update to Windows 10, version 1909, you must use the Enablement Package KB4517245 (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. This security update includes quality improvements. Key changes include:

  • Addresses a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to “FILE:” ports. To address this issue in the future, make sure your applications or services run as a specific user or service account.
  • Security updates to Microsoft Edge Legacy, the Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization.

If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.
