Windows 11 version 22H2 is the next major update for Windows 11 that Microsoft may release in September 2022. Now, new evidence hints at Microsoft planning two incremental updates Moment 1 and Moment 2 for Windows 11 version 22H2. What is even better that both Moment 1 and Moment 2 updates may bring new features.
While Windows 11 version 22H2 general update will be released in September, Moment 1 update may follow it in October 2022. It also seems that every Moment update will have a dedicated Build range. As per the source, the build range for Moment 1 may be Build 228XX.
Moment 2 update for Windows 11 version 22H2 may arrive in 2023. It may have a dedicated build range 229XX. As mentioned earlier, every Moment update brings a few new features. For example, Tabs in File Explorer may arrive in Moment 1 update.
The Windows 11 Build 22940 appeared in a screenshot posted at Github. This build as described above may belong to the Moment 2 update for Windows 11 version 22H2.
Currently, Windows 11 version 22H2 Build 22621/22622 is available in Beta and Release Preview channels for insiders. Beta channel Build 22622 has features enabled while Build 22621 comes with features disabled by default. Both Beta and Release Preview channels get new builds via cumulative updates.
The Moment 1 and Moment 2 updates may follow similar testing methodology. The new features tested in Moment 1 and Moment 2 Builds will be available in Beta channel builds for testing. The new features once tested will be released to public via cumulative updates.
