Microsoft has released the major update Windows 11 version 22H2 to general public. While the installation from ISO and other means installs Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.382, the mandatory update KB5017321 takes it up to Build 22621.521.

Now, it seems that the update KB5017321 is failing to install for many users. It is also braking gaming for many users who have complained in various forums about these issues.

It however seems that manually downloading and installing KB5017321 is possible. If the update is failing for you too then you can click on the download link below and install the update

But some users are also reporting a different Windows 11 version 22H2 update failure issue. This issue causes computer to restart, and the screen read “Undoing changes made to your computer” while installing the update.

Windows 11 x64 22H2 feature update fails during installation

Dear Community!

I have encountered a problem during the installation of the 22H2 feature update. The Windows Update offers the possibility to update, it downloads and installs the update. After the computer restarts to continue/finish the update process. Its progress reaches 3% and the computer restarts again and the screen reads “Undoing changes made to your computer”. After some minutes it restarts again and Windows 11 starts with version 21H2.

I tried to restart Windows Update Service, deleted the content of SoftwareDistribution directory but nothing helps.

The notebook is a Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 with 1TB SSD, 32 GB of RAM, Intel Core i5 1135G7 and Intel Iris Xe graphics. It has enough storage space on SSD.

Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

Cannot update to Windows 11 version 2022 (22H2)

Can someone help me please?

My current version is Windows 11 21H2 and when I want to update it restarts and ‘undoes changes made to my computer’ and I’m back to the old version.

Users who are facing Gaming issues after installation of Windows 11 version 22H2 update are complaining about two issues. Many see CPU usage dropping to quite low thereby impacting the gaming performance after installation of version 22H2.

CPU usage dropped to 5% during Gaming after installing Win 11 22H2 update causing huge lag

Got the 22H2 update for win 11 this morning and my games immediately started to lag.. Using MSI afterburner I found that in games (BFV and NFS Heat) my cpu usage had dropped from around 50-60% to only 5 % it was the same in all of my games. They all ran perfectly yesterday. Rolled back the update and the games are running perfectly again using 50-60% cpu.

Why would this Windows 11 update do this to my new 6 week old gaming PC?

Im using i7 10700cpu and a 3070 video card along with 32g of ram

Hi,

Same issue here. Installed version 22H2 and all games I have tested are now unplayable with cpu usage always below 2% which leads to a stutter fest.

Rollback to 21H2 and everything works as before with no issues.

My CPU is I9 12900k.

Users reported that rolling back to Windows 11 version 21H2 update fixes the issue.

Same problem. I rolled back to 21H2 and everything was fine again. 9900k/3080ti. It’s a shame for developers to release this, such critical bugs should not even reach public builds.

Another Gaming performance issue is being reported by many users with NVIDIA GeForce experience on their PCs. There is however a new driver update by NVIDIA that should fix the issue.

Please download the update and share if the performance issues that were introduced after updating to Windows 11 22H2 are resolved for you.

I’ve updated to the 3.26 BETA and re-enabled Frameview SDK and Variable Refresh rate, and it appears to be fixed/working :). Will continue to play test a bit…but so far, looking good! Back up to solid 144hz in game and no random dips/stutters thus far.
