Windows 7 users have now widely reported facing a new issue that is giving them lots of hassles. Many Windows 7 PC owners took to various online forums to report about this issue that is denying permission from doing shut down and restart.
The problem seems widespread and many users have reported it on Reddit and official Microsoft answers forum.
There are some working workarounds already that can fix this issue though it is not known whether these solutions are temporary or permanent. Here are the steps that one can take to fix this issue.
– Open “Run” and digit “gpedit.msc”
– Go to “Computer Settings > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options
– search “User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin approval” and set it to ENABLE
– Open “Run” again and do a “gpupdate /force”If you can’t turnoff after the gpupdate then kill and rerun “Explorer.exe”.
