Just days back, we brought to you leaked screenshots of Windows 8.1 update 1. The screenhsots revealed “boot to desktop” and minimize and close options for metro apps on desktop.
Now a build WINDOWS 9600.16596.WINBLUES14_GDR_LEAN.140114-0237 of Windows 8.1 update 1 has been leaked on the web and screenshots have been posted in various forums. The changes look targeted to enhance the experience of mouse and keyboard users. The screenshot confirms ability to minimize, close metro apps and snap apps side-by-side with the help of the black bar on the top of the apps. Apart from that, one can now right-click on any of the live tiles on the start screen to bring up context-sensitive menu with ability to resize, unpin and more.
Search button and shut down option will also be present now on the start screen itself as seen in the above screenshot. Other changes include control panel link in PC settings and ability to show store apps in the taskbar.
Microsoft is expected to make the Update 1 available to developers on March 11th before BUILD 2014. But, you may not need to wait that much. You can click the source link below to go to the forum and download and install the Update 1 build at your own risk.
