Rumours were doing the rounds on the internet that Microsoft might come with a new kind of Xbox controller called Xbox Adaptive Controller. No official announcement was made by the Xbox team back then regarding its existence. We were wondering why is this even an important device as Microsoft already has Xbox controller.
Clearing all our doubts, Microsoft today on their Xbox blog reveals little detail about its functionality and who are its target audiences. “At Microsoft, we believe in empowering every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more,” wrote Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox.
What is Xbox Adaptive Controller
Xbox Adaptive controller is a device targeted to the people who don’t have the luxury to use their hands like normal people. People with such disability will now be able to game with zero hassle with the Xbox Adaptive Controller. “Joining the Xbox family of controllers and devices, the Xbox Adaptive Controller was created to address these challenges and remove barriers to gaming by being adaptable to more gamers’ needs,” wrote Phile Spencer in a blog post.
Except for the price, Microsoft did not reveal much about the new controller but the company promises that the device will be launching this year with no mention of exact dates and availability. The company will talk more about this device at E3 which will take place in just a few weeks away.
Microsoft has been doing loads of stuff lately to empower people who deserve extra care. The company is taking help from various organizations and hospitals to make accessibility a lot more viable for those needy people. Check out the video to know more.
